‘How does learning Happen?’ is a question that has challenged and inspired teachers and caregivers for decades. This ongoing inquiry still leads us each day to meet the needs and challenges of the children in our care. As indicated in the Minister’s Policy Statement released June 8, 2015 we will use the ‘How does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014)’ document to guide our program. This statement, together with the Child Care and Early Years Act guide our program development, pedagogy and practice. CHILDCARE PHILOSOPHY
The Oaks Early Learning Childcare desires to provide a childcare that reflects the heart of Christ. Our program demonstrates the belief that a child’s work is play; through play in a developmentally appropriate environment a child grows and learns. The learning environment we provide recognizes the importance of and is designed to nurture the whole child’s level of development: physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
